2015 Chrysler 200

Officially shown today for the 1st time. But nothing new to anyone with an internet connection since pictures have leaked a few days ago.

I really like the way they designed the wood trim on the dash. It does feel quite original, for once.

But I  still think the exterior looks way too much like the Fusion. Like if Chrysler designers scrapped whatever they were doing when they saw the Ford and decided to follow the same design instead.

But. The true horror in these pictures is the gold/champagne trim in the light interior. What the hell???

Please. tell me this is just a reflection...

VW CrossBlue

VW is now saying the CrossBlue SUV will finally be produced in the US.
But it is still over a year away.
The CrossBlue looks fine. Boring but fine.
But as a 2016 model, it will already look old!
(Come to think of it, the more I look at these pictures, the more I think it already looks old...)

Why such conservative designs take so long to get a green light? And why so long to decide on a Crossover for the US market??? Which should be obvious.

This is the one I wish they were producing instead. The CrossBlue Coupe.
I saw it in person at the L.A Auto show and it does look really good.
And it would still look good a year from now...

VW Beetle Dune Concept

VW claims this has more changes to go into production than the one they showed us back in 2000.
(I guess, since that last one had zero chances of production...)

It does look fun. Although the square lower grille in the front looks weird. (No matter what, the Bug is a round car.)

Otherwise, it is basically a Beetle Turbo with 208HP and FWD. With a bunch of additional bits.
So it wouldn't be too hard to produce right away.

2015 GMC Canyon

Basically a Chevrolet Colorado with a GMC front end.
Which solidifies GMC's reputation as just a "Different grille" company.

But I guess it works. Since they sell tons of their full size trucks and SUVs while the Chevrolet versions are the same.

Besides that, I actually do like the Canyon.
The front does look better than the Colorado to me. Maybe mimicking more the full size trucks.
Which many buyers might like.

I think GM could have a huge hits with their new "compact" trucks.
They do look pretty good, and most people really do not need the full size beasts to drive around...

(The Silverado I am driving this week can really be a pain in the city...)

VL Destino Cabriolet.

It seems to be working well since they are planing to show a convertible of their car at the Detroit Auto Show.
Which could be quite pricey since the sedan is already around $200 000.
Here is the Karma convertible concept from a couple of years ago. NOT the Destino.

Looks like VL destine is just reusing that design for they "new" concept .

Porsche 911 Targa

Still not sure if this is real or not.

But even if it isn't, it is very close to the real thing. Since we have already seen patent designs that look exactly like this.

I guess the removable part of the top is stored in the front trunk?

UPDADE: Sorry it's a fake.

Just found this official Porsche picture online. Which is what was used for the above illustration.
So that was fake. Sorry.

audi 2015tt 2015audi concept allroad
This isn't really a preview of a next small Crossover from Audi.
But actually the next TT due out in a few months.

Of course, the TT won't have a wagon style rear end, and it will sit lower.
But the rest of the cat is pretty much there. It even has the TT interior we saw a couple of days ago at CES.

Unless they are actually working on a shooting brake version of the next TT. Which could be nice...
