Mazda6 Diesel postponed for the US.

 We are getting the 2.2 Liter diesel version of the new Mazda6. But not before April now.
"To accomodate final emissions testing and certification" is the official word.

Apparently the 6 sells quite well in the US and it is currently in short supplies. Which is good news. So dealers will be getting 4000 more cars for the 1st few months of next year.

THIS is what we should be getting with the diesel engine! The great looking wagon version.

Volvo announces engines for US V60 Wagon

The V60 will be available with a choice of 3 engines in the US.

-2.0 Liter Turbo with 240hp. First engine of their new Drive-E family. Available only in FWD models.
-2.5 Liter Turbo with 250HP. This is the base engine for AWD model-
-3.0 Liter V6 with 325HP. AWD only.

The 2.0 is an all new engine. Soon, both the 2.5 and 3.0 engines will also be replaced by the new Drive-E family of engines.

The V60 goes on sale in January in the US.
I have seen a few in Europe over the years, and all I can say is that it looks great in person.

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon

I remember a quote from GM last year telling us how, this time, the Chevy and GMC we going to be much more different from each other.
Well.... I don't see it.

They are again the same cars with different front ends. Which is pretty sad, Which also means that, again, the Escalade will just be a Chevy with a Cadillac front.

Inside, at least, it is not like the 2014 Chevy trucks. But look! The column shifter is still there! In a 2015 model.
That's pretty amazing. (And sad)

I guess GM doesn't really care, since they keep selling tons of these every year. Over 100 000 of them last year alone. Without including the Suburban and its Yukon KL twin.

So, I guess they're right... Why bother making these modern and different from each other.

Opel Adam coming to the US after all???

As a tiny Buick?

At least that is what some GM execs are talking about, during the Frankfurt auto show.
They are at least "considering it".

The Adam is the smallest Opel model, and it competes with the Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper in Europe.
It would start at about the same price as the 500.

But they are also saying that the car "cannot be federalized". Which is the oposite.

But also could mean they are considering the next generation, which is at least 4 years away.
Unless the work something out. Which Fiat did in order to sell the 500 in the US.

If it happens, it would be, by far, the smallest Buick ever made.

The Encore, which was thought by many to be too small to be a Buick, is selling very well.
So who knows, if they market it well, the Adam could be a nice alternative to other small cars here too.

2014 Nissan Rogue

Now looking like a small Pathfinder.
Which might not be good news for the Pathfinder. Since the Rogue is now larger and offers a 3rd row seat as an option.

Plus, the Pathfinder, with its sea of hard plastics inside, is hardly upscale. This couldn't be much worse.
Just a bit smaller and a lot cheaper.
And the new Rogue also offers a panoramic roof option, not available in the Pathfinder.

The powertrain is the same as before, and similar to the Altima. A 2.5 Liter with CVT.
It isn't horrible, but far from great. It was mostly quiet in the Altima I tested a few months ago. But still felt weird at times.

No matter what, they will sell tons of these.
It looks much better than before, is roomier, can seat 7, and is rated at 26/33MPG.

I actually can't wait for this car. Again, too bad they call it a concept.
This should be quite stunning, and let's hope the production versions ends up really close.

The GLA didn't lose much from Concept to production, so there is hope.
