Chevrolet never took off in Europe. For a very simple reason.
It was as stupid idea!
I remember thinking "What about Opel?".
I guess after 10 years, GM has been unable to separate the 2 brands enough to sell both. Opel never was "premium" enough to be Audi. 10 years of a stupid mistake.
(And, to most Europeans, Chevrolet still means "big American cars".)
It all started 10 years ago with the genius idea of rebadging Daewoo cars as Chevrolet for Europe.
This is not bad news, as very few will miss the brand in Europe. And it will give GM more money to spend on Opel/Buick, which is good.
